Kate’Art editions – Art Books
I was lucky to receive a wonderful collection of art books for all ages for learning about art. The Kate’Art collection has so much to choose from and I’m going to tell you about some of the books I received.
Colour and Learn – Art books
The Little Vermeer – Starting with a little background story about Johannes Vermeer the book then invites you to colour in your own versions of his painting. It also encourages you to discover more about Vermeer and how he developed his work. His most familiar painting is probably ‘The Girl with the Pearl Earring. Pierre-August Renoir – Teaches the reader about Renoir and gives you the opportunity at colouring in some of his works by learning how he adds detail. A little more history and detail than the Vermeer book. You can buy this book on Amazon for £6.99 in Paperback.
The Impressionists’ Japan from Monet to Van Gogh – The Impressionists were fascinated by Japan: it’s pure lines, shapes and new techniques. In this book you can learn about what they loved and have a go yourself at re-creating some art work. Available from Amazon for £3.27 in paperback
Gustav Klimt – This is a pure colouring book with a print from Gustav Klimt on one side of the page and a black and white lined one for you to colour on the other. There are some beautiful intricate patterns to colour. Available on Amazon for £6.99
Two Inspirational Artists, Niki De Saint Phalle and Mary Cassatt

Mary Cassatt – Mary Cassatt is the only American Impressionist. She spends part of her childhood in Paris. As a young girl, she wants to be a painter! One day, Mary sees a pastel by Degas in a shop window…find out how Miss Cassatt became an impressionist! This is a lovely detailed book about Mary Cassatt and her beautiful paintings. A rather sweet story aimed at slightly younger children. Mona Lisa comes to life and talks about her journey as a painting and the different ways in which she has been depicted. A good way to learn about such a famous portrait.

I love colouring in and enjoy doing it with ny children. I also really like gustav Klimt so i would enjoy this colouring in book X #mmbc
