Christmas Pottery
A couple of weeks ago, while the kids were on half term, we went to a pottery painting session held by SEND Socials. The pottery painting was provided by MadMoos.
We had a lovely afternoon in Bournville, painting and chatting. Here are a the things we made in more detail. We are just missing a mug that The Little Man painted but we’ll pick that up soon too.
Baubles
As it’s November it’s okay to talk about Christmas so we decided to make some new pottery baubles for our Christmas tree. The Little Man had thought he was painting a hip flask, so he did it in Minecraft and camoflage design. Boo made a very delicate, pretty pattern on hers and I turned my round ball into a Christmas pudding.
Star
Star got really creative with her pottery and very carefully painted a rainbow on a star box. She blended the colours in so there were no harsh edges. She also matched up the lid to the bottom. I think she did a wonderful job, and you can see it in the picture above.
Santa Loves Christmas
Boo had actually started off making this star which she spent ages painting but said shed messed it up and had a bit of a sulk. I patched it up a little while she got on with painting her bauble above. I think it turned out okay, maybe not very Christmassy though.
Dad had decided to go for a Santa plaque and the lady running the pottery session suggested he added a little grey to his beard. I think he went a little over the top, but has somehow made Santa look a bit younger don’t you think?
I think we did pretty good and love our new Christmas decorations. I do love pottery painting and my family does too, its fun and kind of relaxing. I can’t wait to see The Little Man’s mug as none of us can actually remember what he painted on it.
What a lovely thing to do and what lovely memories! The star box is amazing.
