Happy Mother’s Day! What a strange one it is this year for sure. I never really expect much for Mother’s Day but this year my daughter sent me a lovely bunch of flowers through the post.
Flowers
The flowers arrived in a box which was left on my doorstep while the delivery driver who had dropped them off stood at the end of my path, at least two metres away. It feels like surreal times. I don’t usually answer the door but I was right near there when he knocked and I’d stood back while opening the door to keep away. Thankfully, the box was light enough for me to pick up, and it was really tall too, so I could bend to reach it. I called out a thank you to the delivery guy and brought my parcel inside.
Mother’s Day 2020
It was obvious that the box carried flowers so I carefully unwrapped them and put them in a vase in my living room. They smell so gorgeous and I’m truly thankful of my daughter for remembering Mother’s Day and sending me such a lovely gift.
Some years my eldest have gone out shopping to buy me stuff but that’s out of bounds this year. Some years my husband has taken my little ones out shopping, but that’s not been allowed either.
I wonder how many older Mother’s sitting at home are unable to be with their loved ones today.
We have a roast dinner planned for today, yes we were lucky, but I’m well aware that food is running low and I’m hoping the supermarkets will be able to help soon. People just need to stop panic buying and we’ll all have enough.
But for today, as a Mother’s Day present to myself, I’m just going to focus on how lucky I am to have my family here at home with me and all the worries can wait until tomorrow.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the lovely Mothers out there.
Ahh they are beautiful. Hope you have a lovely day and enjoy the roast #sundaysnapshot
Aww! What lovely flowers!
It is very surreal when things are delivered now. I recieved a parcel the other day and was actually shocked when the woman handed me the package. Everyone else has been putting it at the front door and standing well back.
We had planned to go for a family meal today. Me, Stu, my girls, my dad, his partner and her sons. That’s been cancelled obviously. I do feel so sad for those who can’t be with their mothers today. It makes me so glad to have my girls here. I hope you are having a nice day x

How lovely of your daughter to send the flowers. My kids went shopping right at the last minute, but if Mother’s Day had been any later, I wouldn’t have had any flowers. We dropped a present through my mum’s letterbox and chatted to her through the window.

Panic buying must stop at some point surely? Still there seems to be no toilet roll available around our area – it’s madness! Mothers Day was bizarre wasnt it – still they are beautiful flowers. Thanks so much for sharing and for linking up with #MySundaySnapshot.
That is really lovely that your daughter sent you flowers. They are such a gorgeous colour and so vibrant. I hope you had a good day xx #MySundaySnapshot
