Hello and welcome to the home of Word of the Week. A nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. The idea of the linky is to reflect back on your past week and share it with us. It’s great if you can sum it up in a word or phrase, hence giving us your Word of the Week. My word this week is ‘Sullen’ and you can read more about that below.

MY WORD OF THE WEEK – Sullen
Is it the weather? Has it just non stopped rained for what seems like forever? Where did the sunshine go? I think everyone in our house has taken on a sullen mood. See that statue in the photo above…yes, we all feel just like that.
Rain, rain go away!
Maybe if the sun came back out to play we would feel better? The girls have been moody and argumentative. No school work has been done all week. They’ve been refusing to shower or go to bed at a reasonable time.
The eldest two have also been moody, stomping about and spending more time in their bedrooms than anywhere else. Coming out only to eat and complain about my cooking.
Graham hasn’t been too bad, he was grumpy that the Little Man was taking over his PS4 at the beginning of the week, but now he has it back so he’s okay. The Little Man is happy so long as he can play Roblox or Minecraft. He has been doing school work under protest, and even had a haircut off his Dad.
I Want my Happy Family Back!
Last week we were having fun together and enjoying each other’s company. But even I’ve been intolerable it seems, everyone is avoiding me anyway. Please come back sunshine, and bring some light back to my family.

Ah yes, I think that picture sums up the mood here this week too. Sorry that you’ve all had a week of everyone being grumpy too. I’m sure the weather doesn’t help at the moment but the forecast for the next week looks better here and hopefully will be the same for you too. Hope next week will be a better one. I think so many people have been feeling this way this week Anne, it’s rotten isn’t it? Just when summer seemed to be taking over too. I don’t mind the odd cosy day in the house at all, but the occasional break in the weather would be nice. Keeping my fingers crossed for some improvements and hoping that next week is a better one for you! #wotw

The weather has been rotten. Today was the first day this week it hasn’t chucked it down all day, we still had showers though. Ugh!
