Hello and welcome to the home of Word of the Week. A nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. The idea of the linky is to reflect back on your past week and share it with us. It’s great if you can sum it up in a word or phrase, hence giving us your Word of the Week. My word this week is ‘hospital’ and you can read more about that below.
I’m not totally strict on using just a word or phrase. But please try to stick to the theme of summing up your week. There are not too many rules with this linky, just remember to read at least another couple of posts in the link up after adding your link. I will read and comment on all posts and tweet them out for you. I also have a Pinterest board devoted to Word of the Week and I will add posts to Mix Please add the badge below to your post so that others may find us and join in. If you comment or tweet then please use the hashtag #WotW
Word of the Week is open from 6am on Friday Morning to 12 noon on Monday. Plenty of time to join in!
If you are unfamiliar with the Word of the Week linky then please feel free to ask any questions. New linkers are always welcome, we love to hear what you have been up to in the past week.
MY WORD OF THE WEEK – Hospital
It’s treatment week for me. It’s kind of weird because I started last Friday and won’t be going in today because it’s Good Friday. But, I’ve been to the hospital every day for 4 hours of infusions of IVIG. I bought myself some new clothes because I would be leaving the house every day. Some people buy clothes for holidays or special occasions, I buy them so I’ve got something different to wear in hospital every day.
The treatment is going well, it makes me tired and gives me the most horrendous headaches, but lots of water and paracetamol as well a rest and I’m surviving. Give me a few days and I’ll be feeling a lot better. And hopefully it will last a few weeks. I’ve already made up my mind to pester my consultant for a different drug (Again.) He’s turned me down twice, but he’s not been honest with me so I have my argument ready. The only problem is, I don’t speak to him again until October. I might try and get an earlier appointment, but it’s doubtful.
Graham has had limited success with his busy routine of driving everyone to where they need to be. Sacrifices have been made. It’s annoying because even though it was a difficult plan, it was certainly doable, and roll back five years ago when I was fit and healthy (but still older than Graham is now) and I would have taken it all in my stride. In fact I had busy weeks like that most weeks. I don’t want to put Graham down, but sometimes I wish he’d get his act together, especially when we rely on him so much.
By the time you read this I’ll be chilling and recovering from my week in hospital and looking forward to a chocolately weekend.
Now it’s over to you, what word or phrase sums up your week this week?
So happy to be joining in with #WotW.
I’m glad your treatment went well Anne. It really must take it out of you.
Have a fab Easter and enjoy a well deserved rest. Thank you for hosting. x

so happy to have you Jayne, I hope you have a Happy Easter too x
I think a chocolatey weekend is the perfect end to your week after all that time in hospital. Have a lovely Easter break 🙂
Good on you buying new clothes to go to the hospital. I am glad the treatment is going well. Sorry you have been suffering with headaches, I hope they pass soon.
Good luck with getting the new drug.
I hope you have a wonderful Easter with lots of chocolate. x

I’m glad your treatment went well (apart from the side effects!) and hope that you are now feeling much better as a result of it and are able to enjoy your Easter weekend. Fingers crossed you can sort out a new drug with your consultant too. I can understand the frustration with trying to juggle everything – especially when it’s something you would have once taken in your stride – I’m the same with my husband when he takes over doing something and makes juggling it all seem harder than I think it needs to be! Hope you have a lovely family weekend together and time to relax. Thank you for hosting #WotW x
(Just realised I commented under the wrong post. oops!) Your week has been busy. I had to chuckle at you buying a new wardrobe of clothes for your week in hospital. I’d be the same. Hope the headaches have subsided and you are beginning to feel the positive effects. Fingers crossed that you’ll be able to talk to your consultant soon. Have a lovely chocolate time!
I’m going to have to get some new clothes when we are out and about a bit more! I hope you are feeling OK now and are enjoying your chocolately weekend. Fingers crossed for an earlier appointment so that you can sort our your medicine #WotW
