Hello and welcome to the home of Word of the Week. A nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. The idea of the linky is to reflect back on your past week and share it with us. It’s great if you can sum it up in a word or phrase, hence giving us your Word of the Week. My word this week is ‘countdown’ and you can read more about that below.
I’m not totally strict on using just a word or phrase. But please try to stick to the theme of summing up your week. There are not too many rules with this linky, just remember to read at least another couple of posts in the link up after adding your link. I will read and comment on all posts and tweet them out for you. I also have a Pinterest board devoted to Word of the Week and I will add posts to Mix Please add the badge below to your post so that others may find us and join in. If you comment or tweet then please use the hashtag #WotW
Word of the Week is open from 6am on Friday Morning to 12 noon on Monday. Plenty of time to join in!
If you are unfamiliar with the Word of the Week linky then please feel free to ask any questions. New linkers are always welcome, we love to hear what you have been up to in the past week.
MY WORD OF THE WEEK – Countdown
I left you last week just after my eldest daughter’s birthday and we went out for a delicious meal on Friday Evening. The weekend was a little quieter and Boo and I caught up with ‘Stranger Things.’ But this week it feels like everything is on a countdown.
This week I have been having my hospital treatment and now it’s a bit of relief which I hope lasts until our holiday in a few weeks time. That’s my biggest countdown at the moment, I can’t wait to be near the sea side.
It’s Boo’s birthday in 19 days time so we are on a countdown for that. I have bought her main present and I’m now looking for a few extra treats to wrap up for her. She also wants to go out somewhere as a family.
Then it’s holiday time just 5 days after Boo’s birthday and during the countdown I’m sorting out all the things we need. I’ve ordered a food parcel to be delivered to our caravan so we will have the essentials and won’t have to take lots with us or go shopping as soon as we arrive. I’ve also requested a bale of towels to save room in the suitcase.
I had been counting down to an exhibition which was on yesterday but we ended up not going. I was a little disappointed as it would have given us an opportunity to look at some new cars as we are able to request a change of car now ready for September. Some people have been waiting for months as their is actually a shortage of new cars!
Finally, even though I don’t like talking politics on my blog, we can’t ignore the BIG resignations this week and we are now on a countdown to a big change in the government.
Now it’s over to you, what word or phrase sums up your week this week?
It sounds like you are on the countdown to lots of fun and exciting things.
I really need to start shopping for my girls birthdays. The holiday sounds fantastic. I hope you have a fab time. x
We are on a countdown too! Mainly till when school finishes!
How lovely to be counting down to Boo’s birthday and your holiday – lots to look forward to. Hope all went well with your hospital treatment. That’s a shame that you didn’t end up going to the exhibition though. We’re counting down to the school summer holidays and Thomas’s birthday but I’m feeling quite mixed about it all. Hope you’re having a lovely weekend x #WotW
Oh, I love a countdown to holidays! I hope you all have the best time.
I’ve got to prep for a couple of birthdays coming up too. Craig’s is up first, so I’ve started to buy a few things for his. xx
I hope you have a wonderful time by the sea – a holiday always makes life better. #MMBC
We’re on a countdown to the school holidays here. We’re all looking forward to lazy days, lie ins and chilling in front of a good film 🙂

Here’s hoping you’ll be feeling as well as possible and the relief from your hospital treatments will last until your holidays at least. I’m also hoping the UK prime minister’s resignation will indeed mean a big change and not just more of the same, as it has here in the Netherlands. I mean, here the government collapsed over some huge scandals at the end of 2020 and yet prime minister Rutte’s party again became the largest in the general election in 2021 and the exact same parties are on the government now that were on the last one.
