Hello and welcome to the home of Word of the Week. A nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. The idea of the linky is to reflect back on your past week and share it with us. It’s great if you can sum it up in a word or phrase, hence giving us your Word of the Week. My word this week is ‘Queen’ and you can read more about that below.
I’m not totally strict on using just a word or phrase. But please try to stick to the theme of summing up your week. There are not too many rules with this linky, just remember to read at least another couple of posts in the link up after adding your link. I will read and comment on all posts and tweet them out for you. I also have a Pinterest board devoted to Word of the Week and I will add posts to Mix Please add the badge below to your post so that others may find us and join in. If you comment or tweet then please use the hashtag #WotW
Word of the Week is open from 6am on Friday Morning to 12 noon on Monday. Plenty of time to join in!
If you are unfamiliar with the Word of the Week linky then please feel free to ask any questions. New linkers are always welcome, we love to hear what you have been up to in the past week.
MY WORD OF THE WEEK – Queen
I had my word of the week post written up and ready to go this morning, but after the sad passing of our Queen Elizabeth II I felt that I had no choice but to pay my respects.
I’ve never known a time when Queen Elizabeth wasn’t our Queen. I’ve celebrated her Silver, Golden and Platinum Jubilees. She has always been a constant and I feel so much pride.
My heart broke for her last year when she sat alone at her husband, Prince Philip’s funeral. Abiding by the Covid rules set by our government. Setting an example. If anyone needed a hug or hand to hold it was her. Now, perhaps, she is re-united with her husband in a better place. Rest in Peace dear Queen.
It’s a very sad time for our Country.
You can catch up with some of my week in this post here if you wish.
Now it’s over to you, what word or phrase sums up your week this week?
It certainly is a very sad time. I had so much respect for the Queen – especially after Prince Philip’s funeral. She always carried out her role with dignity and set such a huge example to others. It certainly is the end of an era. #WotW
We were so caught off guard by the sad news! As we hardly watch TV or listen to the news, we were actually on a Youtube live show when the subscribers told us what had happened. It was such a shock and Leisa couldn’t control the tears. We had to end the LIVE rather abruptly.
The queen has done so much and continued to work even up until the end. I truly admired her and was sad too, when her husband died.
I knew what had happened but it was still a shock. x
The news about the Queen was expected but it is still shocking. Everything feels different. It really is a sad time. x
I knew that this day would come but it was still a shock. The Queen was such a wonderful example of grace, service, and faith. The world will never be the same now that our lovely Queen is no longer with us.
It really is the end of an era and I think it will take many of us a while to get used to the idea off having a king instead. Also to get used to William now being The Prince of Wales instead of his father.
