Hello, Happy New Year, and welcome to the home of Word of the Week. A nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. The idea of the linky is to reflect back on your past week and share it with us. It’s great if you can sum it up in a word or phrase, hence giving us your Word of the Week. My word this week is ‘Hope’ and you can read more about that below.
I’m not totally strict on using just a word or phrase. But please try to stick to the theme of summing up your week. There are not too many rules with this linky, just remember to read at least another couple of posts in the link up after adding your link. I will read and comment on all posts and tweet them out for you. I also have a Pinterest board devoted to Word of the Week and I will add posts to Mix Please add the badge below to your post so that others may find us and join in. If you comment or tweet then please use the hashtag #WotW
Word of the Week is open from 6am on Friday Morning to 12 noon on Monday. Plenty of time to join in!
If you are unfamiliar with the Word of the Week linky then please feel free to ask any questions. New linkers are always welcome, we love to hear what you have been up to in the past week.
MY WORD OF THE WEEK – Hope
This week’s chosen word, Hope, is actually my word of the year. I start each year with hope but this year I really need to believe it. There are so many things I hope for.
For myself, I hope I can get some health issues sorted and find new ways of improving my condition. There is no cure, but that doesn’t take away all hope.
Again, for Star, I am hoping that she finally gets some help with her medical conditions. Just a year ago I posted a Facebook post about how sick she was, and throughout the year she has got worse. But, we have also started to get proper help and I hope this continues and we find a way of dealing with her illness. I’m old and I find it difficult being sick. I can’t imagine how it must feel like for her with her whole life ahead of her. We have to hope that things will get better.
For Boo, I hope she does well in her GCSE’s. She has a provisional place reserved at a college but she still needs to get her grades. There are always options if she doesn’t but I am hoping she will put the work in.
For The Little Man, I hope he gets the help he needs to continue his education. He is not doing so well with home education. He was good for a while, working hard and keeping up with the curriculum. Lately, however, it’s become obvious that he misses the school environment. We have some plans and we have some help. I am feeling hopeful.
For Graham, I hope he can manage to sort his health problems out too. After his heart attack last year he has to take a lot of medication. He is still struggling with lifestyle changes but he doesn’t want to suffer like he did again so I’m sure he will find a way.
I have hope, but I know that things don’t just fall into your lap, you have to work for them. Having hope is just the beginning, but 2023 is just beginning too.
Finally, I hope that all my readers have had a lovely Christmas holiday and wish you all the very best for a wonderful New Year.
Wishing you a brighter better year ahead, Anne, and your family too. Enda
Thank you Enda, Happy New Year x
I’m really hoping that things turn around and improve for you and that 2023 is kind and brings solutions and help for Star, Boo, Little man, Graham and you too. Wishing you all the best for a good weekend Anne.
Thank you Ruth x
Hoping for you all too. Tough year for you last year, but I hope that this year sees your trust in the future paying dividends. I’m back blogging, this year and looking forward to catching up with everyone. Thank you for hosing.
Oops. Meant hosting. I really should remember to read before I press the button.
Nice to have you back Cheryl, you’ve been missed.
I do hope 2023 is a brilliant year for you and your family. Hope is a brilliant word.
It sounds like Star is starting to get the help that she needs. I hope things are better for her soon. It’s crazy that our youngest girls will be sitting their GCSE’s this year. I am hoping my girl puts the work in too. Good luck with your Little Man. x
Thanks Kim, hasn’t time flown by, our babies are all grown up now (well, almost!) x
I really hope 2023 is kind to us all. It sounds like 2022 was quite a ride for your family too. I hope Graham is OK. My step-dad had a heart attack when I was 14 and I still remember all the changes it brought with it #WotW
My Step Dad had a heart attack when I was 13 and didn’t survive, so I know how lucky I am that Graham is still here. It’s good to see you back Jane x
Hope is a big word and a good thing. Sending all good wishes to you and your family for the new year
Great word for the new year Anne. I hope 2023 is a lot kinder to you all. xx
Happy new year Anne. I hope that 2023 will be a much better one for you and your family and that you will get the things that you hope for this year x #WotW
