This week I’m bringing you some photos of the sky that I’ve taken over the week while I was away on holiday in Cornwall.
First is this eagle flying right above my head. He flew over so many times and I couldn’t catch him. So, I put my camera on burst mode and when he came back I just held down my finger and caught 20 photos of him. This one was my favourite. I’m not zoomed in, he really was that close. We got the chance to meet him even closer later on, but being stuck in a wheelchair I couldn’t get across the gravel in time. At least the rest of my family got to meet him.
Sunset
In my holiday post I showed you a wonderful sunset that I’d managed to capture. I didn’t want to post it again so I’m sharing this one which was about half an hour before. You can’t beat a lovely sky over the sea. I love the colours both before and during a sunset. Pink skies are my favourite.
Sea View?
Our holiday park promised sea views, and they didn’t lie…This is a photo from the balcony cafe. Look carefully, you can just about make out the sea in the distance. To be fair, it was actually just a short walk away, but it looks so far. It’s not all sky, honestly. The line of trees in the distance marked the start of walk down to the beach. The cafe was at the end of the park too, so our caravan was even closer.
What’s that in the sky?
The sun was a little shy while we were away. Mostly it was hiding in the skies behind clouds, some light and fluffy, some dark and menacing. But on the best day I caught the sun hiding behind a tree.
I hope you enjoyed my photos this week. You can catch more of my holiday photos on a previous post if you wish.
That is a fantastic photo of the eagle! I hope you all had a lovely holiday.
It was the best thanks x
The sky is always a place to use your imagination or just enjoy what you can see, or think you see!

some would say I spend far too much time with my head in the clouds 🙂
This looks lovely – the eagle photo is fantastic!
Thanks, the eagle was really close, he flew past a few times but I couldn’t catch a photo, then I put my camera on burst mode and caught 30 photos of him getting closer and closer.
What wonderful photos!
It looks like there was a lot of blue skies! I love that one of the sun hiding behind a tree x
It looks like you had some amazing weather down in Cornwall this week! You are very lucky! Alas, at least the sun has shone this weekend! Cornwall always looks so idyllic, it’s somewhere I am yet to visit, but hopefully soon! What an amazing capture of the eagle and good thinking for putting your camera on burst mode – must have been magical to experience! Sim x
I love sky photos and spend a lot of time looking up. Wonderful collection – hope you have a great week! #MMBC
These pictures are lovely. Great photo of the Eagle, I love birds of prey. We tend to see a lot of Kestrels and Buzzards near me. #MMBC
How lovely! What a great shot! #MMBC
Hi Anne, I love that eagle photo, it looks huge. Thank goodness for burst mode… I do like a pink sky too, it makes me catch my breath with the prettiness, especially when there is a smattering of clouds. It’ shame the sun was a little shy on your holiday, but you seemed to have a fantastic time regardless.
xx
Wow, what a beautiful collection of sky thoughts. That eagle is an awesome shot X #mysundaysnapshot
