Hello and welcome to the home of Word of the Week. A nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. The idea of the linky is to reflect back on your past week and share it with us. It’s great if you can sum it up in a word or phrase, hence giving us your Word of the Week. My word this week is Merry Christmas and you can read more about that below.
I’m not totally strict on using just a word or phrase. But please try to stick to the theme of summing up your week.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Since adding this link up party to a directory I’ve noticed a lot of posts, in particular, recipe posts, that do not fit in with the theme of this linky. I have made the decision to remove these posts from further link ups. So please don’t link up anything unless it includes a summary of your week or events in your life. Thank you for your understanding
There are not too many rules with this linky, just remember to read at least another couple of posts in the link up after adding your link. I will read and comment on all posts and tweet them out for you. I also have a Pinterest board devoted to Word of the Week and I will add posts to Mix Please add the badge below to your post so that others may find us and join in. If you comment or tweet then please use the hashtag #WotW
Word of the Week is open from 6am on Friday Morning to 12 noon on Monday. Plenty of time to join in!
If you are unfamiliar with the Word of the Week linky then please feel free to ask any questions. New linkers are always welcome, we love to hear what you have been up to in the past week.
MY WORD OF THE WEEK –Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas to all my readers, thank you for sticking with me. I always appreciate the comments I recieve and try to reply to as many as I can. I also attempt to recipricate comments I recieve from other bloggers.
So, Christmas is nearly here and after a bad couple of weeks now it’s time to pick myself up. Christmas with my family will be enjoyed no matter what.
I love the festive season, I love the lights, the decorations, the food, the gifts and Christmas films are just the best. I don’t mind getting up at stupid-o-clock on Christmas day with excited children. Their smiling faces as they open their presents is the best gift I could recieve.
Festive songs bring me joy whether they are carols or Christmas hits. There is nothing nicer than having the Christmas music channels playing.
I always feel festive when decorating the tree and making the cake. And I always make a cake for my Mother-in-law too.
We don’t visit Father Christmas anymore but my youngest had a visit at school. And by the time you read this they will have had their Christmas dinners and Christmas jumper days. The festive season is so busy but also fun.
On Tuesday I went to the Little Man’s performance of ‘The Greatest Snowman.’ Last years show was so brilliant I didn’t think it could be beaten. But they really know how to make a show special at his school. I was almost moved to tears.
On Wednesday I went to the Supermarket with my husband and two oldest children. We overfilled the trolley with food and goodies that should last us until after Christmas. I have ordered the turkey to pick up just before the big day. And there is another shopping delivery booked for the vegetables and fresh stuff.
Christmas is nearly here and I can’t wait for the kids to break up from school today.
I’ll be doing a word of the week next week but I will understand if no-one submits. It’s perfectly okay to switch off for the holiday.
I’d like to say a big thank you for all the linkers to my Word of the Week and for making this a great community. Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas Anne, and I hope you and your family will have a lovely one. You sound like you’re all ready for the big day now and I’m glad that Little Man’s show went so well. I’ll be taking a break next week but will be back joining in with #WotW in the new year. Thank you for hosting it – love this little community x

You did indeed have a festive week! Hubby and I need to do our Christmas week shopping today. I have a looooong list. He will not be happy, but we have out-of-town family to entertain. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
I hope the shopping went well, we did ours the other day, you’d think we had a load of visitors coming by looking at what we bought, but in fact it will be just the seven of us. Merry Christmas x
Merry Christmas to you and your family too!
