Hello and welcome to the home of Word of the Week. A nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. The idea of the linky is to reflect back on your past week and share it with us. It’s great if you can sum it up in a word or phrase, hence giving us your Word of the Week. My word this week is ‘wrapping’ and you can read more about that below.
I’m not totally strict on using just a word or phrase. But please try to stick to the theme of summing up your week. There are not too many rules with this linky, just remember to read at least another couple of posts in the link up after adding your link. I will read and comment on all posts and tweet them out for you. I also have a Pinterest boarddevoted to Word of the Week and I will add posts to Mix Please add the badge below to your post so that others may find us and join in. If you comment or tweet then please use the hashtag #WotW
Word of the Week is open from 6am on Friday Morning to 12 noon on Monday. Plenty of time to join in!
If you are unfamiliar with the Word of the Week linky then please feel free to ask any questions. New linkers are always welcome, we love to hear what you have been up to in the past week.
My Word of the Week – Wrapping
It’s less than two weeks until Christmas and the wrapping is underway. I used to love wrapping presents so much but lately it seems like a chore. So I do it a little bit at a time. I don’t even have that much to wrap this year…well, or so I thought. How come you think you’ve barely bought anything then you end up with a hoard?
Many years ago, before I had my young children, I would go and help my Sister-in-law with her wrapping. She had a big family with loads of nieces and nephews to wrap presents for. I’ve never really had a lot of people to buy for. With the age gap between me and my older brothers it meant that my nieces and nephews were practically peers. As the years have gone by my family is a lot smaller and I have a lot less to buy for. I still have five children myself though.
I think I already miss the days of lots of toy buying. Although the Little Man has toys for Christmas, the girls don’t and I know it’s only a few years before there will be no toys in my house….after 32 years it’s going to be strange. I do wish I had grandchildren! Maybe one day.
So, this week I’ve been watching The Queen’s Gambit each evening and wrapping my presents, and that’s about as exciting has my week as been.
EDIT: My niece has announced it publicly now so I can put it here…My brother is going to have his 6th grandchild next year…yay, a new baby in the family. Huge congratulations to my niece and her partner xx
Now it’s over to you, what word ‘wraps up’ your week this week 🙂
Aww baby news! congratulations to them both 😀 I must start the wrapping… not sure I’ve finished all the buying but still.. LOL!
Ahh! I feel like I have been wrapping for weeks and I’m still not finished. I just have my eldest girls to do though. I hate wrapping but I feel like I’m getting there.
Ahh! I know what you mean. I miss buying toys too. With my two it’s all about electronics, clothes and pretty things. lol x

Congratulations on the baby in the family. They are gifts from God. Hope this coming week is a good one for you. Happy Holidays! #MMBC
I haven’t packed my immediate family’s presents yet but I sent the last of the cards and parcels off today. I quite like wrapping presents but need to buy more sellotape first – we’ve run out already!

We don’t have any toys anymore either; and while I thought I would miss it I don’t really. I find I actually enjoy wrapping more now as I have much less to wrap so I can be more intentional about it rather than just trying to fly through and finish it. #MMBC
