Hello and welcome to the home of Word of the Week. A nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. The idea of the linky is to reflect back on your past week and share it with us. It’s great if you can sum it up in a word or phrase, hence giving us your Word of the Week. My word this week is ‘gathering’ and you can read more about that below.
I’m not totally strict on using just a word or phrase. But please try to stick to the theme of summing up your week. There are not too many rules with this linky, just remember to read at least another couple of posts in the link up after adding your link. I will read and comment on all posts and tweet them out for you. I also have a Pinterest board devoted to Word of the Week and I will add posts to Mix Please add the badge below to your post so that others may find us and join in. If you comment or tweet then please use the hashtag #WotW
Word of the Week is open from 6am on Friday Morning to 12 noon on Monday. Plenty of time to join in!
If you are unfamiliar with the Word of the Week linky then please feel free to ask any questions. New linkers are always welcome, we love to hear what you have been up to in the past week.
MY WORD OF THE WEEK – Gathering
This time of year is when you find yourself like a squirrel gathering nuts. I’m gathering together all I need to make it a special Christmas.
I’m gathering together the presents so I can wrap them up and put them under the tree or in bags to be taken off to others, or the post office.
I’m also gathering food and stacking up my cupboards. Why we need so much food for Christmas I don’t know. It is the season of indulgence. But we don’t really go over the top, just a few extra treats and meals that we can’t normally afford. I save up for it over the year, and get extra from collecting vouchers and using TopCashBack (referral link) sites.
Today we have Graham’s Mom and his brother over to exchange presents but they won’t be here long. There won’t be any big family gatherings in our family, whether the Covid restrictions come into play or not. We don’t really do Christmas parties and haven’t done so for many years.
Also, this morning I have an assessment to do for Star. I’ve been gathering together lots of information and documents and I’ve made myself a document for referral. It’s quite early in the morning so I’ll be really glad when it’s over.
Next week it will be Christmas Eve!
Now it’s over to you, what word or phrase sums up your week this week?
Gathering is a good word for this time of year and I love the thought of gathering things together for Christmas like a squirrel gathering nuts. Good luck with Star’s assessment and hope you enjoy seeing Graham’s mom and brother today. #WotW
I’m enjoying my gathering of presents and food more this year, as I think I’ve lowered my own expectations. It’s quite refreshing really. It’s our third year of no gatherings. I think I miss the little conversations as you help in the kitchen when visiting, even more than the hugs. Maybe next year. Hope Star’s appointment went well.
It sounds like you have been busy with the Christmas prep. I go overboard with the Christmas food but it does all eventually get eaten.
I hope you have a lovely time seeing Graham’s family. We are having my dad and partner over next week and Becky’s girlfriend the week after but that’s it for visitors.
I hope all goes OK for Star with the assessment. Sending love and hugs xxx
Yes! I think we have gathered all we need too! No more going out for us while the mad rush is on. Even the Christmas grocery came even though I realise we left out a few things like tomatoes etc. Oh well, it’s not like we can’t have Christmas without tomatoes, lol. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
