Hello and welcome to the home of Word of the Week. A nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. The idea of the linky is to reflect back on your past week and share it with us. It’s great if you can sum it up in a word or phrase, hence giving us your Word of the Week. My word this week is ‘Stressful’ and you can read more about that below.
I’m not totally strict on using just a word or phrase. But please try to stick to the theme of summing up your week. There are not too many rules with this linky, just remember to read at least another couple of posts in the link up after adding your link. I will read and comment on all posts and tweet them out for you. I also have a Pinterest board devoted to Word of the Week and I will add posts to Mix Please add the badge below to your post so that others may find us and join in. If you comment or tweet then please use the hashtag #WotW
Word of the Week is open from 6am on Friday Morning to 12 noon on Monday. Plenty of time to join in!
If you are unfamiliar with the Word of the Week linky then please feel free to ask any questions. New linkers are always welcome, we love to hear what you have been up to in the past week.
MY WORD OF THE WEEK – Stressful
Last week I was tired, I was looking forward to a better week but I’m sad to report that it’s been super stressful. Not only am I very ill (treatment week next week) but I have had so much to deal with. I’ve fought for Star to keep her place at college and after a really stressful day on Monday, we managed to actually get her to the college but she wouldn’t stay. I’m not sure what we are going to do now, I’m don’t know what options we have left. I called a helpline before Christmas but they have not helped much at all. I am literally banging my head against the wall.
But it’s not just Star. Boo has started to refuse school again. She went in last week for two days ok, but this week she became super stressed again. She made herself sick on Monday morning so she didn’t go to school. Then I had a call saying that she had an important exam to take and if she didn’t go in we would need a doctors note to prove why she couldn’t attend, or she’d lose her place on the course. She managed to go in and do the exam. I will give her some credit though, she has managed to go to school for the rest of the week.
All three children have issues which I am finding super stressful to resolve. I’m finding it really hard to keep on finding the strength to support them.
I don’t know if it’s stress, but I also have a headache at the back of my head which won’t go away and hurts so bad if I bend down. It’s impairing everything I do. I’ve also had a real nasty seizure this week and Graham wanted to call and ambulance but I (somehow) managed to stop him. It’s a sad time we live in when calling an ambulance is something you have to think really carefully about. I know they are under a lot of stress at the moment trying to keep up with Covid and staff shortages. And there is no way I’d want to be staying in hospital right now.
If I’m honest, this is just a little peek into what a stressful time I’m having right now and I really want to scream into the void. I truly hope that my lovely readers are having a better week.
Now it’s over to you, what word or phrase sums up your week this week?
Oh no! I’m not really sure what to suggest! Would your Star consider a job maybe? If she isn’t enjoying school and is old enough? I don’t know, but I wish you get it all fixed soon. I hope the headache clears and that your treatment next week goes well too. I don’t blame you for not wanting to go into a hospital now.
Oh no! Sending love and hugs to you. It sounds like you and your family are having such a rotten time of it.
So sorry about your girls refusing college and school and the seizure you had sounds awful. Thinking of you xxx
Oh dear 🙁 sending a gentle hug xx
I’m so sorry you’ve had such a stressful week Anne and that you’ve not been feeling well either. Hope that things improve for Star and Boo with college and school soon and that your headache gets better. I hope that your treatment goes well next week and that it will be a better week all round for you all. Big hugs x #WotW
Oh mate, I’m sorry you are having a rubbish time at the moment.
I hope you get some support with your girls, it sounds like you have a lot on your plate.
Sending the biggest hug. xx
So sorry to read you are having such a stressful time at the moment. I have no idea where to start with school refusal. It was only a few months ago I discovered that you have to attend college etc until you are 18 now. I hope you are feeling better and didn’t need any hospital treatment. Sending hugs #WotW
