Hello and welcome to the home of Word of the Week. A nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. The idea of the linky is to reflect back on your past week and share it with us. It’s great if you can sum it up in a word or phrase, hence giving us your Word of the Week. My word this week is ‘Five minutes peace’ and you can read more about that below.
I’m not totally strict on using just a word or phrase. But please try to stick to the theme of summing up your week. There are not too many rules with this linky, just remember to read at least another couple of posts in the link up after adding your link. I will read and comment on all posts and tweet them out for you. I also have a Pinterest board devoted to Word of the Week and I will add posts to Mix Please add the badge below to your post so that others may find us and join in. If you comment or tweet then please use the hashtag #WotW
Word of the Week is open from 6am on Friday Morning to 12 noon on Monday. Plenty of time to join in!
If you are unfamiliar with the Word of the Week linky then please feel free to ask any questions. New linkers are always welcome, we love to hear what you have been up to in the past week.
MY WORD OF THE WEEK – Five Minutes Peace
Five Minutes Peace is a book by Jill Murphy about a Mummy Elephant who needs a rest from her 3 demanding children. I’ve chosen the phrase this week as I so needed a rest from my demanding family. You can see from my August round up post that it was a full on month. It’s September now and I’m hoping it will be a little more peaceful although I very much doubt it.
I wasn’t very well on Saturday, I had one of those days when I just felt totally burnt out. I did manage five minutes peace, or rather a couple of hours, when the girls went bowling with their friends. I spent it watching Cars 3 on television!. I felt better on Sunday and wanted to take the Little Man to a festival at the park. Graham wanted to stay in bed though and he was so annoyed at my asking that they went without me. Ah well, a bit more peace for me…until the weekly online shop arrived and I had to put it all away.
The rest of the week has been fairly calm. We did a bit more shopping as I’d forgotten a lot of stuff, and we also had to go and see about our new car. In the end we decided to keep our car for a little longer and I’ve just renewed the insurance. I’m still hoping I get my licence back then I’m so going for an adapted car.
We still haven’t managed to enrol Star at college, she has today and tomorrow to do so, fingers crossed. The hospital appointments are starting to arrive in the post now so any hopes of peace may be drifting away.
Now it’s over to you, what word or phrase sums up your week this week?
Five minutes peace! absolute luxury! LOL! It is nice though when it happens
Ahh! I remember that book from when my girls were little. hehehe I am looking forward to next week for five minutes peace.
I am glad you have had a calm week until now. I hope Star is doing OK. Sending love and hugs. x
ah, five minutes of peace can seem like bliss. Glad you got some this week. Hopefully Star and the car issue will be sorted in time.
Five minutes peace, now I could do with a bit of that! I hope Star is OK and that you get some answers soon. Sending big hugs. xx
I love that book. It’s so cute and very relatable especially when you have little ones to take care of. Hope you have a great rest of the week and that it stays calm for you.

One of my favourite books from when my girls were small. I’m not surprised you’ve felt burnt out with everything that’s been happening recently. Hope that you can enjoy some calm soon. #WotW
