Hello and welcome to the home of Word of the Week. A nice and simple weekly linky, with everyone welcome to pop by and share. The idea of the linky is to reflect back on your past week and share it with us. It’s great if you can sum it up in a word or phrase, hence giving us your Word of the Week. My word this week is ‘School’ and you can read more about that below.
I’m not totally strict on using just a word or phrase. But please try to stick to the theme of summing up your week. There are not too many rules with this linky, just remember to read at least another couple of posts in the link up after adding your link. I will read and comment on all posts and tweet them out for you. I also have a Pinterest board devoted to Word of the Week and I will add posts to Mix Please add the badge below to your post so that others may find us and join in. If you comment or tweet then please use the hashtag #WotW
Word of the Week is open from 6am on Friday Morning to 12 noon on Monday. Plenty of time to join in!
If you are unfamiliar with the Word of the Week linky then please feel free to ask any questions. New linkers are always welcome, we love to hear what you have been up to in the past week.
MY WORD OF THE WEEK – School
It’s word of the week fifty, just two more weeks and this year will be over! But this week I’ve chosen the word school because it’s featuring big at the moment. In between all the Christmas wrapping and preparations we have been having big discussions on the Little Man’s Future and he will be going back to school after Christmas.
He will be going back to the school I de-registered him from! I’m still questioning my decision but the Little Man is okay with it and that’s my first priority. We have a group of people that are supporting us and the Little Man. They can get us into another school, but it’s not the choice we wanted for him. The school we do want, really doesn’t have the space, but we are still on the waiting list. In the meantime they will support him with a phased return to his old school as a SEND student while they work out an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan.) This should help him in the future. (We hope, it’s not the holy grail that a lot of SEN parents seem to think will be the answer to all their problems.)
Keeping on the subject, I can’t believe how close Boo is to finishing school now. Just her GCSEs to go. She has a place at college depending on her results, fingers tightly crossed. We had a parents evening this week and she is doing well (apart from her homework, which she really needs to do more of.) Then I’ll have just one child at school. That’s a weird feeling after so many years. I have a place reserved for Star at college next September her health permitting. The same group that are helping the Little man want to help Star too, but she’s being very uncooperative at the moment. I know it’s down to her health condition. We’ve a lot to work on, but we will get there.
I’ve been loving looking through my Facebook memories and seeing my children taking part in the school plays at Christmas. If you have little ones, make the most of it, it’s a precious time. We had a school concert last week which was amazing. The school may not be very good but there is one thing they do very well and that’s band musicianship and the kids LOVE it!
I hope you are all ready for Christmas, less than 10 days now! It’s still Freezing though isn’t it, stay warm x
Now, it’s over to you, what word or phrase sums up your week this week?
Our discount offer of 15% OFF with coupon code CBD15 is already live and will be valid up to 28th February 2023. Whereas, we have planned to run a special holiday discount offer of 25% OFF with coupon code HOLIDAY25 that starts on 20 December and ends on 26th December 2022.
I hope the return to school goes well for your Little Man. It sounds like he has plenty of support in place, good luck with the EHCP.
Our girls are so close to leaving school, it seems crazy they only have a handful of months left. In the summer I will have no kids at school. Eek! It sounds like Boo is doing really well, my girl struggles to do enough homework too. I hope things go smoothly for Star, she has had such a rough ride. x
I hope your Little Man settles back into his old school well. Congratulations to Boo on getting a place at college and best of luck with her results. I get emotional seeing my boys in photos of their Christmas events when they were little. The years just flew by way too fast!
Good luck to Little Man returning to school after Christmas and it sounds like you have good support available so hopefully things will be better for him this time around. Glad that Boo is doing well at school too. I’m sure it will be a very strange feeling to have only one child at school. They do grow up so fast. I’ve certainly been enjoying the moments with Nativity plays and school Christmas events with Sophie and Thomas, knowing that this time is very precious and passes all too quickly. Glad the school concert went well. Hope you’re all managing to stay warm x #WotW
I hope your have a wonderful Christmas and a healthy New Year! #MMBC
It sounds like you have a lot to think about with a new school, GCSEs and college too!
Have a wonderful Christmas and enjoy the break. Wishing you and your family all the best for 2023 too 🙂
