Happy Birthday to my husband Graham today. We celebrated last night with an Indian take out and today we will be tucking into his chocolate birthday cake.
Chocolate Cake
Graham is more of a fan of nutty cakes and I’ve made him special cakes in the past. Sadly, I don’t get to make cakes very often now and they are generally shop bought. I’m sure he’ll be happy with his cake, even if I didn’t make it myself.
He loves aeroplanes and so I’ve decided to treat him to a trip to his favourite museum, Cosford Royal Air Force Museum. (This is an old but great post with loads of pictures and a video.) We’ve been there several times in the past but I though it would be nice for him to have a boys day out and go with his brother and Joseph. The girls have enjoyed visits in the past, but Star is not really going out much this week and Boo may still want to go, she can if she wants. I enjoy the museum too, but it’s not the easiest of places to navigate in a wheelchair. You have to spend so much time just waiting to go in the lift, whereas the boy can just go up and down the stairs. I think they will have much more fun on their own.
Half Term
It’s our half term now but it’s going to be a busy week. I’m off out for lunch tomorrow, with a friend I haven’t seen for many years. Then Tuesday is the designated day for the boys trip.
Wednesday, my eldest son has a meeting about opportunities for his future. I think it’s a huge step for him and I hope they have something to offer.
Thursday is Star’s MRI which should take us about four hours. I’ll be going to the hospital with her so I’ll take my snacks and earphones for when I’m waiting for her. (the scan should be about 45 minutes to 1 hour.)
Friday, I’m back to the imaging department at the same hospital for an xray on my lungs. The doctor wants to check that the scarring they found last time is a one off and not the start of something more serious. I’m not too worried, my breathing is fine anyway.
I’m planning on a nice relaxing weekend before Boo goes back to school next week.
Happy birthday to Graham, I hope he’s had a fab day. That cake looks so good!
Have a fab half term, it sounds like you are going to be busy. Good luck to your eldest son with his meeting, Star with her MRI and you with the x-ray! x

That birthday cake looks delicious and a fun boys day out at the museum sounds wonderful. Hope the week and all the doctor’s visits/scans go well.
That does sound like a busy week! I hope Graham enjoyed his birthday trip and that both hospital appointments went well.
The moment that I wish linkies weren’t just virtual but real so I could grab a slice of this as it looks delicious! Thanks so much for sharing and for linking up with #MySundaySnapshot.
